More Daughters Are Born in Poor Homes Than in Rich Ones - Shivraj
At a felicitation by the BJP Mahila Morcha, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan raised the issue of the sex ratio, saying more daughters are born in poor homes than in rich ones, and more in villages and tribal areas than in cities.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that more daughters are born in poor households than in rich ones, and that a similar gap can be seen between cities and rural areas.
The BJP Mahila Morcha had organised a felicitation ceremony to mark Shivraj Singh Chouhan's completion of 11 years as Chief Minister. Addressing the event in the state capital, Chouhan raised the issue of the sex ratio and said that more daughters are born in the homes of the poor than of the rich.
He said a similar difference in the sex ratio is seen between villages and towns: more daughters are born in villages and tribal areas than among city dwellers and the educated.
Listing his government's achievements, Chouhan said he is always ready to help sisters and daughters. He also mentioned the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, noting that other states have adopted the scheme as well.
