To avoid problems such as pain, clotting, restlessness and anxiety during your period, it is important to eat the right diet. Here is what to eat during your period.

Porridge and millets

During your period you should eat food rich in fibre, so that digestion stays smooth and you do not suffer from gas. So for breakfast or dinner, eat savoury dalia (broken-wheat porridge) … and oats. Getting enough fibre, protein and vitamin B is important.

Eat soaked dry dates

Soak chhuare (dry dates) overnight and eat them for breakfast in the morning. If you like drinking milk, avoid plain milk during your period, as it can cause gas. You can add turmeric, coffee or Horlicks to it instead.
